The history of the Verone

The loggia, built at the end of the 15th century and since then known as the 'Verone', was the clothes drying room used by the Ospedale degli Innocenti, until it changed its function in the 19th century to become a 'living room terrace for nannies, infants and weaned children'. After almost half a century of neglect, in 2016 this amazing space, now beautifully renovated, has come back to life as the cafeteria of the Museo degli Innocenti.
