Innocenti Academy

The new website of the Innocenti Academy, the training platform that makes the Istituto degli Innocenti's extensive programme of courses, conferences, seminars and working groups available to everyone throughout Italy, is now online. A wealth of skills and knowledge that from today will be available to the entire community to disseminate the best and most up-to-date tools to protect and promote the rights of children and adolescents.

The Innocenti Academy website replaces the previous address in order to offer a completely redesigned and renewed showcase in terms of graphics and content. A more structured and more easily navigable platform, addressing an expanded audience of both professionals in the sector, but also parents and adolescents.

A wider audience in order to become an educational reference point

The online training made available by the Istituto degli Innocenti through its Innocenti Academy has a huge potential. The considerable added value offered to professionals (social workers, educators) who have the opportunity to participate in projects in which the Institute is involved is clear. This is why the new platform aims to overcome the traditional limitations imposed by the local nature of individual projects, and addresses a qualified, but broader and, if necessary, international audience. Moreover, given the strong educational content of the offer and its attractiveness to a diverse adult audience (families, parents and young people), the Innocenti Academy aims to become an educational reference point for non-professionals as well, thus playing a much broader socio-educational role than that of a training agency.

New content for a rich and inclusive offer

The Innocenti Academy offers a wide range of training courses, which in fact represent the new course catalogue of the Academy of the Istituto degli Innocenti. In addition to online training, the new platform provides users with access to conferences and seminars. It also supports the activities of working groups within the Institute’s own projects, but that are also linked to the main partnerships such as the National Documentation and Analysis Centre for Childhood and Adolescence and the Regional Documentation Centre for Childhood and Adolescence, the Italian Ombudsman for Children, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, and the many other partners with whom the Institute works. More specifically, the Academy provides a unique training experience based on synchronous events (such as webinars), asynchronous events (such as self-study materials) and in-presence events (such as lectures or training courses). Additionally, the platform offers customised training pathways thanks to its ability to gather training needs, interests and objectives. Finally, the Innocenti Academy offers training content in bite-sized multimedia content, i.e., basic, short elements that use various expressive models to better tailor personalised learning pathways addressed to platform users.
