The Museo degli Innocenti Hosts the Exhibition “Toulouse-Lautrec. A Journey Through the Paris of the Belle Époque”

From 27 September 2025 to 22 February 2026, the Museo degli Innocenti in Florence hosts a national preview of the exhibition “Toulouse-Lautrec. A Journey Through the Paris of the Belle Époque”, an event that brings more than one hundred works by the great French artist and other protagonists of his time to the heart of the city. The exhibition offers a curated journey through fin-de-siècle Paris, vibrant with lights, café-concerts, cabarets, and artistic innovations.

Visitors will be able to admire Toulouse-Lautrec’s famous posters, alongside paintings, lithographs, and graphic works that testify to the modernity and irony of his vision. The posters come from the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi and the Wolfgang Krohn Collection in Hamburg, and are set within a captivating display enhanced by furnishings, stage sets, and historical materials.

For the Istituto degli Innocenti, which has been dedicated to protecting and promoting children’s rights for over six centuries, hosting an internationally significant exhibition strengthens the Museum’s cultural mission: a space that preserves a unique heritage of art and historical memory while also opening up to new experiences capable of engaging diverse audiences, both adults and children.

The exhibition, produced and organised by Arthemisia with Cristoforo (the museum concessionaire of the Museo degli Innocenti), BridgeconsultingPro, and Ernst Barlach Museumsgesellschaft Hamburg, curated by Jürgen Doppelsein, is sponsored by the Municipality of Florence and supported by prestigious partners.
